From saved reels to a searchable library: turning saves into Cards

You remember the idea perfectly. The pricing breakdown, the three-step hook, the line about compound interest. What you cannot remember is which of four hundred saved reels it was in, or which creator posted it. So you scroll, give up, and save a fifth one on the same topic.

You cannot search a saved reel

A saved reel is a video file and a caption. The thing you actually want, the words that were spoken, the steps, the numbers, is locked inside the audio. When you search your saves you are searching captions and hashtags, which is rarely where the value is. The most useful sentence in a reel almost never appears in its caption.

This is why "save it and find it later" quietly fails. Later arrives, and there is nothing to find against. The knowledge was never written down.

Turning a save into a Card writes it down

ReelNotes reads the transcript and the caption of each reel you save and turns it into a Card: a short summary, the key points, and the topics it covers. The idea moves out of the audio and into text. And text is findable.

Now the pricing reel is searchable by the words that were actually said, not by whether you happened to write "pricing" in a note you never made.

Five ways to find the one you mean

Because each Card holds real, structured text, you can find it by however you remember it:

  • What was said in the audio (the transcript).
  • The caption the creator wrote.
  • The Channel you filed it under.
  • The topic it was tagged with.
  • Who is in it, even when no one is named in the caption.

You remember things in different ways on different days. Search should meet you at any of them.

From a search box to a library

Findability is the floor, not the ceiling. Once every save is a Card, you can group the ones that belong together into Channels, and the topics you keep returning to surface on their own. The pile becomes a library: something you search when you need an answer, and browse when you want to think.

Where ReelNotes is today

ReelNotes works with Instagram right now. Save a reel, and it becomes a searchable Card in your library, summarised, tagged, and ready the next time you reach for it.

Stop saving the fifth reel on the same topic. Make the first one findable.
